"Space" Project Proposal.
For my Space project I will be shooting at my friends building. The reason I chose that specific building is because the place is very dark, old and dirty. My aim is to show the presence and influence of humans even though there is no one in the photos. This will be noticeable by capturing rubbish on the floor, graffiti on the walls, broken objects and other details. This idea will be incorporated into a very dark and almost scary space that mostly receives light through windows and doors.
The place I will be shooting at is the "common" space of the building, between the entrance and the actual apartment. I will create a narrative by starting the shooting at the entrance corridor, moving into the elevator, arriving at the apartments floor and then going into the actual apartment. I will try shooting it at day time, night time and explore different perspectives and points of view.
The reason I think this place can be very effective for this project is mainly because the building has a lot of space in that area and by being there on a daily basis you would notice that you never see anyone around the place, giving a feeling of emptiness, and only the things that remain there, are the objects and rubbish left by the people who went through it. If I can capture the human influence on this old, dark space, I think it can definitely be really effective.
